Hey, I’m Aiden.

I’m a full-stack software engineer with a focus on how an application fits together, from the way it looks and feels to the systems behind it. For me, that means building something that makes sense to the people using it as well as the people developing it as it grows.

About

I’m in my final year of the MEng Software Engineering degree at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, with graduation expected in 2027.

I like taking something fragmented and making it feel like one thing, whether that’s bringing together episode sources spread across different releases and naming schemes, or a class’s work scattered between separate tools. That means thinking through the edge cases and making the way things work clear enough that people aren’t left guessing. I want people to feel they can rely on what I build without having to double-check everything or give up control.

Experience

  1. Medical AI research

Working in a two-person team to bring a medical AI research tool to the web, helping researchers inspect model predictions and heatmaps showing which image regions influenced them.

  2. Digital-twin internship

Built Cesium tools for annotating and measuring 3D maps and photogrammetry models, supporting a university platform exploring digital surveying in teaching.

  3. Web-development lab support

Helped students with HTML, CSS and JavaScript in practical labs, explaining concepts and working through code problems together.
